VSBT operates a structured hybrid, in-attendance model (not distance learning) designed specifically around the busy lives of undergraduate and mature learners. Teaching combines mandatory on-campus sessions with interactive, live synchronous online seminars.
9 Scheduled Hours/Week at our Maidstone campus. Dedicated to collaborative workshops, applied simulations, tutor presentations, group debates, and supervised research clinics.
6 Scheduled Hours/Week via our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Live interactive lectures, guest webinars, data clinics, and structured academic support sessions.
The academic year comprises 32 teaching weeks organized across three intake terms (January, May, and September). Class groups are capped at 20 students to ensure close tutorial guidance and meaningful peer collaboration.
VSBT welcomes both traditional school/college leavers and mature applicants seeking professional advancement or career transitions:
A relevant Pearson BTEC Level 3 qualification; two GCE A-Levels or equivalent Level 3 profile; an Access to Higher Education Diploma; or a recognised UK/international qualification at Level 3 or above.
Applicants without conventional Level 3 qualifications are evaluated on the basis of relevant employment experience, a personal statement, an academic interview, and a diagnostic evaluation of literacy, numeracy, and digital capability.
Non-native English speakers who have not completed the final two years of schooling in English must demonstrate CEFR Level B2 proficiency (e.g. IELTS 5.5 overall with minimum 5.5 in reading and writing, PTE Academic 51, or equivalent approved test).
Assessment on the HND in Business is 100% coursework and applied assignment-based. There are no high-stakes traditional written exams.
The Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma is internationally recognised by employers and universities across the UK and worldwide.
Graduates are prepared for junior and middle management roles, business operations, project management, digital business coordination, human resources, commercial marketing, and launching entrepreneurial ventures.
Holders of an HND in Business are eligible to apply directly for Level 6 final-year entry to complete a full Bachelor's Degree (e.g. BA Hons in Business, Management, or Marketing) at numerous UK and international universities.
